Team Training

So as you probably know, the fitness industry is worth a lot of money. From supplements to training, programs and gym memberships. A big portion of people that purchase a gym membership never use it, which turns out to be a waste of money rather than an investment in their health. Then there’s the people who purchase a gym membership but don’t know how to use it, which means they end up going around in circles until they have had enough, and eventually cancel their membership because they haven’t achieved what they wanted to in the first place. I am going to cover a few ways to make the most of your gym membership to give you the best chance of achieving your goal.

◦ ATTEND THE GYM

The biggest and best way to make use of your gym memberships is to actually show up and use the bloody thing. The amount of revenue a gym makes from members never setting foot in the gym is CRAZY. If you haven’t been to a gym before, I understand it can be very daunting. Find a friend and just start by using the simple machines together before moving to the free weights as you get more confident.

◦ HAVE A GYM SCHDULE

Very much like you would make an appointment to visit the doctor or a work meeting, make an appointment for the gym. A client of mine once said, “This is my appointment for MY HEALTH, and you can’t put a price on your HEALTH and wellbeing”. Take out your calendar or diary now and write in your workouts (days and times), then make the commitment to attend those gym appointments just like you would make a commitment to attend a work meeting.

◦ MAKE FULL USE OF CLASSES

Most gyms will have some sort of classes available for members, some might cost a bit extra but most mainstream gyms will have free classes available to members. So a big piece of advice to you, would be to make the absolute most of classes that your gym provides, as this is very cost effective and it also helps you with the social aspect. You could even find that you might even get a training buddy out of it.

◦ TRAIN WITH A FRIEND

I remember when first starting at the gym when I was 16, and really didn’t know what I was doing. I initially started alone, and after about 10 weeks I was lacking drive. I found a friend that I knew had been training for longer than I had, and learnt from them. At that time my training partner was much stronger than me, but that drove me to try and get stronger and kept him on his game. This also makes for very competitive and more enjoyable workouts…

ADVANTAGES

-Keeping each other motivated

-Keeping each other accountable

-you can push each other

-makes training a lot more enjoyable

HIGHLY RECOMMEND

◦ INVESTING IN A PERSONAL TRAINER

Now… being a personal trainer myself, you might think I’m being very bias on my opinion, BUT I myself have a trainer than helps me achieve my goals. Yes, it will cost to invest in a personal trainer, but very much like your boss at work keeps you accountable to do your job, we will keep you accountable to attend the gym.

Depending on your goals, we will also be able to give you better advice of how to manipulate your TRAINING & NUTRITION to reap the most from the work you put in there gym.

I would highly recommend you do this step if you have never stepped foot in a gym or aren’t quite sure what or how to do it. Our job is to not only teach you how to execute movement properly to minimize the risk of you getting injured, but to motivate, educate and most importantly to help you with your fitness goals, so do not be afraid to reach out if need if you need help.
